  • I was completing my taxes through turbo tax and got a very disappointing estimate. I started looking around for alternative options for getting my taxes filed when I was recommended to Michelle's tax services. When I say I was absolutely astonished by how wonderful the staff were and how incredibly helpful they were with me. At first, I was sceptical since I could not find any reviews or much information on the LLC despite what the website stated and what my friends said. Though I am here to assure you, they are real and were a huge help. They helped me receive the refund I deserved after paying into taxes all year with no stress on my part! I would highly recommend anyone looking to file taxes in Lexington, KY to come here!!

  • I recently had the pleasure with working with MTS, and I could not be more please with the process from start to finish. Every employee in the office is very knowledgeable, friendly, and incredibly helpful. As someone who experiences tax anxiety every year, MTS takes this panic away. They made everything manageable and stress free. They are reasonably priced and go above and beyond for every customer that walks through the door. I couldn't recommend MTS enough. I have already booked an appointment for next year!

Do I file my business and personal taxes separately?

An LLC can choose how it's taxed. By default, single-member LLCs are treated like sole proprietorships, and multi-member LLCs are treated like partnerships. However, an LLC can elect to be taxed as a C Corporation or an S Corporation by filing Form 8832 or Form 2553, respectively. If an LLC makes such an election, its tax filing requirements align with the chosen corporate structure.

Separately: Only if your business is structured as a C Corporation or an S Corporation. These file taxes at the corporate level (Form 1120). LLCs can elect to be taxed as corporations.

Together (Pass-Through): If your business is a sole proprietorship, single-member LLC (by default), or partnership, business income and losses are reported on your personal return (Form 1040). Sole proprietorships and single-member LLCs use Schedule C. Partnerships (including multi-member LLCs taxed as partnerships) file Form 1065, issuing Schedule K-1s to partners for reporting on their personal returns.

What expenses can my business deduct?

Typical deductible expenses:

o Supplies and equipment

o Business meals (partial)

o Travel expenses
